My Teaching Philosophy

My philosophy of teaching is based on the fact that a teacher is not only a teacher, she is a sort of a guidance coach that provides the student with a great amount of values, confidence, and wellbeing.I comprehend teaching as a joyful, ethical, and hospitable occupation based on the evolution of all children and their abilities (ECAE, 2024).It can be done through assistance of the UAE National Educators Framework of Competencies (ECAE, 2024): I must know how to make the learning environments reflective, student-oriented, and able to meet the needs of all students.I think one could learn fruitfully and efficiently in an active, social, and meaningful environment where the error of its situation should be viewed as opportunities to grow and not a failure (Kennedy, Henderson, and Marsh, 2022).

In my opinion, scaffolding, collaborating, and playing facilitate children in building up confidence, curiosity and motivation as a result of the guidance of Vygotsky (1978) sociocultural theory and Piaget (1954) constructivist theory. My goal is to create a joyful classroom of power of energy, imagination and power of exploration – where the students are eager to express their ideas and to have fun along with their schoolmates learning together (Mardell, Kangas, and Carr, 2023).

Over this experience , I have started to have a different perception about teaching because I would not see a teacher as an object of authority and power but a moral mentor the duty of which is to create fairness, inclusiveness and creativity. As an inquiring practitioner, I will make my level best to integrate innovation, empathy, and play in my classroom to offer an atmosphere where every child will feel wanted, perceived, and inspired to learn (Graham, 2023).
