NECF (ECAE, 2024)

Description:

During my placement, I helped maintain a positive and caring classroom environment where students felt safe, respected, and motivated to participate. My mentor and I implemented the “Green Points” reward system, which encouraged positive behaviour and accountability without punishment. Students were rewarded for kindness, teamwork, and responsibility — values rooted in UAE culture.
This experience deepened my understanding of how ethical practice fosters student wellbeing and motivation, consistent with the Ethical and Accountable Educator domain of the NECF (ECAE, 2024).

Indicator:Sets clear expectations for students by establishing and reinforcing classroom rules, routines, and responsibilities”.NECF (ECAE, 2024)

Description:

During my placement, I observed how the classroom rules and policies helped create a structured and respectful learning environment.
Students followed clear expectations—raising hands before speaking, keeping their desks clean, and cooperating with peers.
These routines promoted responsibility, self-regulation, and mutual respect, which reflect both ethical practice and UAE cultural values.
Participating in maintaining these systems helped me understand how establishing and reinforcing routines supports care, fairness, and accountability in daily teaching.

NECF (ECAE, 2024)

Description:

During the school’s Flag Day celebration week, I helped organize a class activity where students worked together to make the UAE flag using colors and raising it. This activity helped them show pride in their country, work as a team, and learn about Emirati culture.
It also showed how values like unity, respect, and belonging can be part of classroom learning. This connects to Vygotsky’s (1978) idea that students learn best through shared cultural experiences and collaboration.
