Description:

During my placement at Al Aqad Al Fareed School, I learned how consistent communication strengthens the partnership between teachers and families. My mentor teacher kept parents informed through weekly class messages and student progress cards that showed each child’s learning and behavior. When students were absent, she or the academic supervisor contacted parents directly to share updates and ensure the child stayed on track. I observed how these practices built trust, encouraged responsibility, and helped families feel truly involved in their children’s education.
This experience taught me that collaboration between home and school is essential for student wellbeing and continuous learning.

During my placement, I observed how my mentor teacher collaborated with the Arabic teacher to connect lessons across subjects.
For example, the math lesson on patterns and numbers was linked to the Arabic lesson on sequencing and vocabulary, helping students make connections between concepts.
This teamwork between teachers supported student understanding and showed how collaboration enriches learning.

Through this experience, I learned the value of interdisciplinary planning and communication — how working with colleagues can make learning more meaningful and connected for students.
